I'm curious if you could talk a little about the origin story and how you ended up going from the south to the west coast and getting into video.Įstelle Caswell:Yeah, I mean I think when I was 17 years old and applying to colleges, I think I subconsciously only applied to places that I've never been and were big cities, and felt like I could sort of start fresh, especially because, growing up in Alabama for 18 years, I really, really wanted a change of pace. It's a pretty diverse set of cities to live in. I did my homework, and I found out that you're from Alabama, but then you went to school in Los Angeles.

The video was part of Vox's Earworm series, a pretty incredible set of visual essays that dive into the minutiae of music theory and history.
